Potable Water Chillers

Potable water, is water that is safe for animals and humans to consume. Some water is naturally drinkable, found in mountain springs and rivers. Non potable water carries heavy metals and potential diseases, which is harmful to an organism’s health. Potable water is not available to everyone because most water sources are contaminated and must be purified to be safe. In developing nations, organizations that are nongovernmental are working to improve water quality.

Potable water is used in variety of applications and industries. The food industry uses potable water in baking, cooking, and food mixing processes. Hydroelectric power plants use this water to create electricity for consumer use. Farmers and ranchers have to use safe water to supply to their crops and animals. Not to mention all the ranch hands that need to stay hydrated to help with the land.Untitled-1

The meat production, and beverage industry use potable water as well. Meat production uses water to raise beef cattle. Meat production uses less water that of the fruit and vegetable agriculture industry. Beverage industries, (beer, juices, sodas, and other drinks), manufacturing facilities require large amounts of potable water to mix with ingredients. For instance, crops used in beverages such as sugar, coffee and vanilla require anywhere between 200-350 gallons of water to produce a 2-liter bottle of cola.

Whaley Potable Water Chillers are designed for bakeries, reverse osmosis, food applications, drinking water, and other applications where clean, pure, potable water is required to be cooled down. Potable, chilled water ranges in temperatures from 34°F to 65°F. Glycol is used in a closed loop to eliminate risk of freezing the chiller system when running temperatures down near to freezing. Packaged chillers are available which include stainless steel reservoirs, high head stainless steel supply pumps, and the highest possible efficiency copeland scroll compressors. Units are available in modular configuration without pump and reservoir as well.potablewater-header
